How to use outreach tools responsibly and reduce risk
Outreach tools (email, calls, SMS, voicemail, scraping) are not automatically "illegal" or "legal" in every scenario. Outcomes depend on how they are used, local/state/federal rules, carrier policies, consent context, and your messaging behavior.
1) Scraping local businesses
Collecting publicly available business data can be permitted, but platform terms and data-use rules still matter. Don’t scrape private/protected information or violate source terms.
2) Calling, SMS, and voicemail
Cold outreach sits in a compliance-sensitive area. Consent, disclosure, opt-out handling, frequency, and state-specific requirements all matter. Abuse can cause carrier filtering, complaints, or account restrictions.
3) Email outreach
Use accurate sender identity, relevant messaging, and proper unsubscribe/opt-out handling. Poor hygiene (bad lists, high complaint rates, misleading content) can damage deliverability or get mailboxes restricted.
4) What we do to help you stay safer
- Structured sending controls and pacing
- Data cleaning/enrichment workflows to reduce wasted outreach
- Guidance for low opt-out, respectful messaging
- Compliance-oriented setup patterns (including A2P 10DLC for SMS)
Bottom line
We’re confident in our ability to help you run outreach in a responsible, high-performing way. But you still need to follow the rules, monitor complaints/opt-outs, and operate professionally to avoid account issues.
